This week’s episode of American Idol got me even more excited because not only did I expect my favorites to make it to the top 36, but I got more than the required weekly dose of drama, I think!
There were a couple of new twists that I found really amusing. There was this long walk along the garden of the “Judges Mansion” instead of the elevator stint of doom. I think this may be Simon’s or Paula’s idea, just to make the agony all the longer!
Then there’s the Sing-Off, where the contestants were tasked to pair off and just, well, sing for their lives (is that an order or what?)! It was a pretty fun idea I think, and most especially the four judges had a blast.
But then again, the main part was the getting in on the much-awaited top 36. I have come across some spoilers on the net and I think some got pretty close to predicting who got in! I think most of them deserve to land that much-coveted spot but there may be a few surprises along the way, after all, this is what makes American Idol everyone’s favorite on reality TV!
Here are my favorite contestants in the Top 36—I am actually relieved that they all made it!
Adam Lambert- I think his career in theater did him good, but I think he will have to adjust his range in the next weeks to be more versatile. Obviously, he is also the darling of the judges—I don’t know if that
counts though.
Anoop Desai- This boy from Chapel Hill Kansas is not just another Sanjaya in the making—although he is cast in that light, as he proves his voice is worth counting in.
Danny Gokey- with an endearing voice and equally dramatic bio, this guy seems to be all cut out not only 
for the Top 12, but he might even make it to the Final Four, with his soulful melodies. Did I mention he has a penchant for salsa dancing as well?
Lil Rounds- I remember a bit of Fantasia in her, to be honest. And she may very well run in the same lucky path!
Kristen McNamara- With those charms combined with an equally alluring voice, I’d say she is a total package, and even if she doesn’t make it to the Top 12, she can continue on the Pop track, maybe even landing an acting gig or two. All I know is that she’s hot!
Jackie Tohn- She may be a shoo-in for the Top 12 because of her showbiz background, but I think she will 
eventually prove her own and make her deserving of all her future votes.
I can go on and on raving about my favorites, but I’d keep some for my next post. I’m really anticipating how the next week will turn out—I just hope my top picks will hang on!
